Senator Sheila Roberge is serving her 12th term representing District 9, having first been elected to the Senate in 1984. She is currently the dean of the Senate, an honorary title bestowed upon the longest-serving sitting senator.
Roberge is a member of the Commerce, Labor and Consumer Protection Committee, the Judiciary Committee and the Public and Municipal Affairs Committee.
Since joining the Senate, Roberge's priorities have been holding the line on taxes, making government more responsive to the public and promoting legislation leading to planned growth.
The senator was active in the Reagan & Bush campaigns in both 1980 and 1984, serving as the assistant coordinator for the Northeast during those years and as state coordinator for the campaign in 1984.
Roberge lives in Bedford and has two children.
